The bezel has the classic Roger Dubuis "notch" design, which really marries well with this watch. In some cases the notched bezel can be a somewhat superfluous distraction, but the cleanliness and symmetry of this dial make it a welcome addition. Cobalt mixed with blue is a lovely combination of colors and exactly what Roger Dubuis did with the theme of this watch. I'm (almost) always fascinated by the legibility issue of perpetual calendars. You have a mix of indications, all of which are rather important given that they are precisely what you are paying a hefty premium for over a regular calendar watch. On a 45mm wide saucer of a watch, this is a relatively easy issue to manage, whereas on something more compact, like this 38mm wide Roger Dubuis Hommage Placide, designers will have to get clever.
